10 Things The Groom Forgets During Wedding Planning

10 Things The Groom Forgets During Wedding Planning

Sometimes it’s very easy to let the bride do most, if not all, of the wedding planning but here are 10 Things The Groom Forgets During Wedding Planning that grooms should be aware of:-

  1. If you let your bride-to-be do all the wedding planning the groom might be in for a surprise when he sees his credit card or bank statement. Do not forget to keep an eye on your budget!
  2. On the day there are bound to be some ‘pre-match’ nerves, make sure you have breakfast/lunch to help settle the nerves and absorb any pre-match drinks.
  3. It’s very easy to forget the time during the day – the day will fly by very quickly, and having some sort of itinerary or timeline to hand outlining what should be happening and when will help. Hopefully, a wise choice of Bestman will help with this but you know what he can be like……
  4. Don’t forget your phone (and charger) and vendor/supplier’s contact details – things can go wrong on the day and you will need these details to sort them out. A few taxi numbers also come in handy at the end of the night for the ‘refreshed and relaxed’ lads. Turn your phone off for the important times of the day.
  5. If you are jetting away for the well-deserved Honeymoon straight from your wedding reception make sure you have all the needed travel documents – without them you will be spending a week at home doing all the dishes etc
  6. Take time out during the day to spend time alone with your new bride. The day will flash by and by the time your Wedding DJ is playing Mr Brightside as your chosen final song, you will look back and wonder where the day has gone. Take time out to take it all in.
  7. Remember to look back at your beautiful bride as she walks down the aisle towards you – it will be an image you will remember for the rest of your life.
  8. The cheapest is not always the best value for money – you might want to keep the budget as tight as possible but you do not want to skimp on the important items. Typically grooms are tasked with booking the DJ – now Dave Double-Decks from down the pub might be the cheap option but remember you and your guests might be spending half of your wedding day in his presence so you might want to pay a bit extra and get an expert on board to help you plan how you want your day to run using his years of wedding experience.
  9. All those lovely gifts given to you by your friends and family need to get back to your home – Santa will not come along and deliver them for you, even though he is most probably not working that night – and they can take up quite a bit of space – hopefully, they will deliver your new fridge directly – but think ahead and do not forget this.
  10. Plan ahead to thank everyone for making your day special – not only your guests but those that have helped give you a great night to remember.

By following the advice here for dealing with the 10 Things The Groom Forgets During Wedding Planning, your married life will start a bit easier and your wife will love you even more.

Best Wishes & Good Luck
